Celebrities are probably the most photographed people in the world. They are under the spotlight almost all the time, and are subjected to the media’s scrutiny daily. Because of this, there is more pressure for them to look perfect. Which is why they, unlike most of us, have an entire team dedicated to ensuring they look good. But don’t be discouraged. Just because we don’t have a professional hair, makeup, and wardrobe team doesn’t mean we can’t look as good as our favorite stars.
Therefore, I think it’s time we have some fun recreating some celebrity looks. I rounded up a couple of my favorite celebrities’ instagrams and chose some key products that would help achieve their look. Let’s get started, dolls.
Gigi is sporting glowing skin, with a rust-colored eye, and a soft, frosted nude-orange lip. To achieve her eye look I would use the Lime Crime Venus Palette. For skin that glows as bright as hers I recommend the Benefit high beam liquid highlighter. And for the perfect lip I would apply MAC’s Lipstick in A Sprinkle of Magic. Voila! You’re a supermodel! (If only it were that easy, right?).
Ugh, I love Selena Gomez! The standout of this picture is the emerald green eyeshadow, though. Green is one of the most flattering colors for brown eyes. An electric emerald green shade, like the one Selena is rocking, will make all the different brown tones in eyes pop. I would suggest a super-pigmented shadow like this Sugarpill Midori Pressed Eyeshadow. Be sure to apply a white base under it, so the color applies with a higher intensity. Selena is also wearing a very defined cat eye. For this, try the Inglot Gel Eyeliner in 77. Finally, for that beautiful sun-kissed bronzed glow, you might want go with the The Body Shop Honey Bronze Baked to Last Bronzer.
Ciara is known for flaunting how wonderful she looks without makeup (much like our beloved Queen Bey). But that doesn’t mean she doesn’t look just as gorgeous when she’s all done up. This look is full of bold brows, which can be easily achieved with the ABH Brow Definer. Her skin is also perfectly highlighted, bringing all the attention to the center of her face. For this, I would recommend using the Maybelline Age Rewind Concealer. Lastly, a matte red lip that isn’t too strong is the key. I would recommend something like the Kylie Lip Kit in Mary Jo K as it is an universally flattering red. But since it’s so difficult to get your hands on one of those lip kits, try this Ciaté London Liquid Velvet™ Moisturizing Matte Liquid Lipstick that is easily available at Sephora.
Ok ok ok, I confess I may have cheated here! But it’s only because I am obsessed with Christina Aguilera’s makeup and I follow her makeup artist, Etienne Ortega, on Instagram. He posted the products he used on this look, and I just think the best way to recreate the makeup is to use the same thing! For lashes, he opted for the beautiful Lilly Lashes in Miami. That perfect nude pout can be credited to the Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick in Hepburn Honey. Let’s not forget how flawless and airbrushed her skin looks, that is thanks to the Marc Jacobs Beauty RE(MARC)ABLE Foundation.
Jlo’s makeup is always flawless. If anyone is #MakeupGoals, fellow New Yorker, Jennifer Lopez takes the cake. For this sparkly look I would start off using the Dose of Colors Eyedeal Duo in Pixie Dust and pair that with my favorite lashes, House of Lashes® in Siren. From the picture above we can see that her makeup artist was sure to apply lots of blush, my choice would be the tarte Amazonian clay 12-hour blush in Exposed. To finish off this Jlo look, I suggest the NARS Striptease Lip Gloss.
And there you have it, celebrity looks that are pretty easy to duplicate. You too can look like your favorite stars with the right products. Do you have a celebrity who is #MakeupGoals? Who is it?
