The second look for our Valentine’s Day Series is the Vampy Glam. Vampy Glam was inspired by the many men and women who forgo Valentine’s Day, and choose this day in particular to be “badass”. We initially thought about putting this look together using MAC’s popular lipstick Rebel, but that shade has some very sweet berry tones in it that looked too romantic. Instead, Eve and I decided to be naughty and use Sin to complete this sexy, bold look.
(Sidenote, it’s pretty clear from the picture below that I love my Sin lipstick and use it often, and that’s why it doesn’t look as pretty as I’d like. So, forgive me.)
Eve’s always-flawless face can be credited to the same combination of foundations from the Soft Glam look, a dewy and matte foundation which create a natural finish. She also made sure to prime her skin using our favorite secret weapon: the Nivea Sensitive Post Shave Balm.
For her eyes, Eve went with a soft matte brown cut crease, keeping the shimmer to a bare minimum. We are rebelling, after all. She used the tartelette amazonian clay palette which, according to Tarte, was created to “to inspire, celebrate, and empower real [men and] women.” Eve then lined her eyes using her MAYBELLINE Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eye Liner in the shade Blackest Black. To complete the eye look, she wore her Huda Beauty Scarlett #8 lashes, which are the perfect high volume, dramatic lashes we all need in our lives.
Vampy makeup is usually very dramatic and sexy, so Eve made sure to deepen her coutour using her Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit in light a little more heavily than in her Soft Glam look. She used her MAC Mineralize Blush in New Romance on the apples of her cheeks. This is a great blush because it builds lightly and pairs well over the bronze of her countour. She then highlighted using her MAC Oh, Darling Highlighter which is actually sold out as it was a limited edition item from MAC’s Magic of the Night collection. However, some good dupes for it include Laura Geller Gilded Honey, Anastasia So Hollywood, and Dior Transatlantique. As always, she spritzed on some MAC Fix+ and Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray to make sure she maintained her sexy look all day and well into the night.
The star of this show is the Sin lipstick. Temptalia describes it as “a dark, burgundy-red with subtle cool, fuchsia-ish undertones with a matte finish.” This particular lipstick can be somewhat patchy if not applied correctly. Using a lip primer can smooth out any lines on your lips and allow a neater application. The color payoff is wonderful though, and can last up to seven hours.
This is the perfect look to go to one of those anti-Valentine’s Day Parties some people have. Actually, this is a good look for anything in my opinion. Embrace your vampiness and let this rich sexy lipstick do the talking.
Have a safe, fun, and makeup-filled Valentine’s Day! Don’t forget to check back for the rest of the Valentine’s Day posts!
Also, another huge thank you to Eve for being amazing and putting this look together for us! Make sure you follow her so you can see what other beautiful looks she creates without me begging her to! Haha!
